Details make my new home

Ok people, I’ve been lazy, uninspired and boring lately, I know. But now that the move across the Great Pond is over and I have bought a sofa, a vacuum cleaner and a bike, the most pressing issues are out of the way and decoration can begin. Here is my progress on the details so far:

The whole thing starts to feel like home slowly. What I still need is a big picture above an armchair in the living room, ideally an enlarged photograph from one of my travels. I am undecided between various options from Russia, Kenyan country roads, Eastern Mongolia, Budapest or even Freiburg! As you might have suspected, I am already homesick for the Old World. Badly. I need some peace and comfort, at least in my daydreams. So I am looking for a picture that reminds me of well isolated windows, quality news, functioning mass transportation systems and good sausage – in one word: Europe. Or at least something with a soul (that’s where Kenya and Mongolia come in.) On the other hand I don’t want to get too depressed and nostalgic, after all not everything is perfect north and south of the white sausage equator and you can find a good cappuccino here as well.
